I’m Jenn. I have been “working” behind the scenes with Nick since I met him about 5 years ago. I know many of you have probably heard about me because Nick loves to talk me up to everyone he meets! Nick and I got married in January of 2022. We had a beautiful wedding and things have been so great. We just moved to Chattanooga this summer and so far we’re loving it! Even though I was born in Florida, I’ve really never been much of a beach girl. Growing up, my parents took my sister and I up to the mountains every year for summer breaks. I grew to love mountains and hiking and camping, and while I’m really not a fan of the bugs, I am so happy being out in nature. Along with many other people within the last few years, I’ve really started learning a lot about houseplants, and caring for plants in general, which is a fun challenge and makes our home much more cozy!
Nick has had a great time getting to know some of the wonderful people of Chattanooga so far. He’s been working with dogs for like 13 years or so, and self-employed as a mobile dog groomer for 8. He’s always been a big animal lover. That’s one of the things that drew me to him early on. Any guy with a heart for animals can’t be bad, right? Haha, well at least in my limited experience. I really love seeing him interact with dogs. He just lights up, and I can see how much he loves what he does. Outside of his day job, Nick is really hands-on. He likes to build things, and fix things. He’s tried his hand at growing vegetables in the backyard, he enjoys tinkering with fun car projects (even though I usually give him a hard time about it). He’s willing to try anything once and likes to try out new hobbies all of the time, like leatherworking. In school, he was involved in many sports teams, including baseball, wrestling, football, and track. He also loves cooking and baking. I may be boring, but Nick more than makes up for it.
Nick and I have a dog of our own. Her name is Lani. She’s a long-haired miniature Dachshund. She is THE BEST – I know everyone says this about their own dog, but really, I mean it. She’s perfect for us. She loves to snuggle, she’s got so much personality and makes us laugh every day! She loves going everywhere with us, and is also an avid hiker, always leading the pack with her nose to the ground, sometimes getting her into trouble! She also loves all of the attention she gets when we walk her downtown and I swear she starts walking with her chest out and a smile on her like she’s proud.
So far, Chattanooga has really blown us away with all of the activities available to us. A big part of our decision to move here was for the mountains and hiking options, and it’s going to be really fun exploring all of the trails here. But outside of the hiking, there’s great food, beautiful buildings all around, and so many activities around town. We think we’re really going to love it here.
